Internships

CCTC productions include a FREE outdoor classic theater in the parks in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties that takes place June/July, and an indoor, Philadelphia based production in July/August.  We currently have three openings for ambitious, hardworking and fun-loving people to be 2014 Company Interns. CCTC’s Summer Season includes:

  • “Free Theatre in the Parks” production of Shakespeare’s THE TEMPEST directed by Allen Radway with David Howey as Prospero
  • “Cool Classics” World Premiere production of RAGE OF ACHILLES by Paul Parente directed by Damon Bonetti

ADMINISTRATIVE TRACK (One Opening)
Interns on the administrative track will assist with administration, marketing and development of CCTC productions.

Job Duties/Expectations:

  • 10 – 20 hour weekly work commitment (hours will vary depending on projects)
  • Access to reliable transportation or public transportation from/to CC Philadelphia
  • Punctual & Personable with good people skills
  • A high level of electronic media experience and working knowledge of photoshop or other design software along with basic Office software preferred

Major Job Projects:

  • Responsible for helping design and implement social networking initiatives
  • Assist with a variety of projects including outreach and sponsorship cultivation
  • Pre-production and production administration
  • Publications – assist in the proofing and layout for publications/program, assist with the development of copy for marketing and press releases and email newsletters
  • Be team leader for local business canvassing for program ad buys
  • Be the volunteer coordinator for ‘front of house’ needs for both productions

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT/ASM TRACK (2 Openings)
Interns on this track will join the company and assist in all aspects of the production process including stage management and tech duties.

Job Duties/Expectations:

  • 10 - 15 hour weekly work commitment during rehearsal (3-4 rehearsals a week), 20 hours commitment during performance weeks
  • Available to work all scheduled CCTC performances (intern candidates with pre-existing conflicts will be considered)
  • Access to reliable transportation or public transportation to and from CC Philadelphia
  • Able to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Knowledge of basic theatre rehearsal and performance processes
  • Interest in Stagecraft. Some stage carpentry/lighting/sound technical experience a plus, but not necessary
  • Punctual & Personable with good people skills

Major Job Projects:

  • Assist Production Manager and Stage Manager during preproduction and rehearsal period – nature of assistance based on experience/skills and interest of interns
  • Assist production manager & set designer implementation of design for show
  • Work as crew in load-in and strike
  • If necessary, some stage time ‘in character’ may be part of crew experience during outdoor production
  • Interns may assist CCTC staff at Courtesy Table – accept donations from audience members, take names & information for e-mail list, sell refreshments, etc.
