THE TAMING OF THE SHREW is steeped in the Italian tradition of the
Commedia Dell’arte. Sexual and gender politics are explored through the comic battle
of wills and wits waged between Katherine and Petruchio.  In the end, one is left to
wonder: Who is the “tamer” and who is the “shrew”? We have set our production in the
1950’s (a decade before the sexual revolution!), giving the play color and
characteristics that will be familiar to our audiences while maintaining the integrity and
themes of the play as written by William Shakespeare over 400 years ago.

If you plan to join us on July 16th at Penns Landing don't miss our
Shrew and the
Ship
